4.2.2 Released

Postby Jeremy » 2005-02-01 02:30 pm

You can get it at the downloads page in both tar.gz and zip formats. There is only one change from version 4.2.1: the join page now includes a captcha (word verification) by default. This is to prevent spamming of topsites lists. It can be disabled in the admin.

Installing it is easy, just have a look at the manual.

For your next update will you also make the select menus XHTML compliant?

correct. although, i warn you, there have been reports of automated spamming of topsites lists, so you're taking a risk by not using the captcha.

automated sign ups are spammer bots, which search various of site and the can signup up automatical for some reason,

nothing special happsn then, they just needable on a topsite, cos they dont paste the code somewhere you get when u join the topsite

hope this was what you wanted to know

Bug allert!

Jeremy, I have found a bug with ATS. Whenever aardvarkind.com goes down the version check fails causing an error because the version.txt file cannot be found.

I recommend adding an error suppression chracter on the file_get_contents on line 814 of admin.php (line number may be wrong)

Thank-you bASIk for pointing this out to me.

Delets categories

Postby joepro » 2005-02-19 08:45 am

The upgrade deletes all the categories. Not a good upgrade.
