Cannot display number of downloads...HELP!

Postby crobs808 » 2005-10-01 02:00 am

I made a small site for my friend who plays piano, and he wants everyone to see the number of downloads per file next to each link

http://www.jamesksims.com/music.htm

so like for the first song it would say something like "1. Over The Rainbow (DL: 217)"

how do i get it to display that next to each song link?

thanks

it's a problem with your host then, ask them about it. all my script does is display the number, if it can't be included that's a problem with your host.

well it is obvious the code from the readme file is incorrect because in the code view in FrontPage all the text that is grayed out means it is inactive and non-functioning text, and when i paste it into frontpage, it is STILL grayed out, thus not being recognized at all in html anyway, so it isnt my host since they support SSI, which is all you need as long as you have perl/cgi support, and I do. So it has nothing to do with my host, since there are other SSI scripts that display info perfectly, just not this script.

well, ssi has nothing to do with my script. my script just displays a number. ssi is a separate mechanism that displays my script in your pages. i have absolutely no control over it.

it's in the readme. are you using ssi on your site already? if so, it's the same code.

ok i have explained this about 10 times now...see the links at the beginning of this thread? it shows that my server supports SSI, but when i paste the modified text from the readme file into my page it wont display!

please, actually HELP me here so i can actually make donations and purchase your other software.

this code doesn't work...

<!--#include virtual="clickmanager.cgi?num=http://www.jamesksims.com/media/jksvol1/01-Over_The_Rainbow.mp3" -->

look here is a test page, go there, and then view the source code...
