Remove http:// from {$url} or create a new variable?

Postby defonic » 2011-10-08 03:08 am

I coded a simple script to display the users site Google Page Rank and Alexa Rank...
It's called by a $_GET variable eg; example.com/rank.php?rank=mysite.com which returns; Page Rank: 3 Alexa: 45,182

Which I then call in the skins by {include http://mysite.com/rank.php?rank=$url}

Heres the problem it returns a 403 Forbidden because {$url} contains 'http://'
eg;
CORRECT: example.com/rank.php?rank=mysite.com
INCORRENT: example.com/rank.php?rank=http://mysite.com

Question: How can I create a new variable that does NOT contain 'http://' in the variable???
Im going nuts here! If someone can help I will be glad to post the source here.
