LOTS of sites have dropped a notch and many webmasters are Upset because they were hoping to go Up - Not DOWN! Very few are bragging that their PR went up...
In fact, some are saying PR3 is the "new PR4", PR4 is the "new PR5", etc. TBPR is now considered to be just a snapshot of where the site was about 2-5 weeks earlier.
A site's actual rankings will not be affected by this!
Clearly, it's getting harder to earn PR 4 or higher...
With many topsites adding a display of PR for their Top 5-10, this makes PR numbers much more visible to people who do not have the Google Toolbar installed.
4 out of 5 of my own top site lists saw no change at all.
Top Sites of America = Opened at PR5 and held that!
Top 25 Lighthouse Web Sites List = Still holding PR5
Top North & South Carolina Sites = Still holding PR5
Webmaster Topsites (First update since I took it over from Jeremy) = Still holding PR4 (this was a relief!)
Top 50 Award Winning Web Sites = Was PR5, now at PR4
Above change is VERY disappointing since it has ALWAYS been at PR5 or 6! I'll have to remove sites without a voting button as I do think that IS one reason it went down. 1 Way links can only bleed PR!
So, how did YOUR topsites do?
