Postby azn_romeo_4u » 2006-01-11 10:10 pm

Aights peeps, here's one that I just finished. A simple one that isn't very graphical in anyways except the logo. It has the ability to add in an 468x60 ad at the top. Here are some screen shots of the image in listed order.

    1. Front Page
    2. Search Page
    3. Join Page
    4. Stats Page
    5. User CTRL Panel
    6. Admin CTRL Panel
    7. Admin CTRL Panel
    8. Admin CTRL Panel

Key Features...
1. Join Page Has Limit Of...
    Password Length
    Title Length
    Description Length

2. User CP also has limits on above said items
3. Stats page separated by Columns so Stats and Reviews don't mingle. Keeps it clean and organize.
4. Admin and User Panels more organize and cleaner looking.
5. Quick user login made easier for members
6. One Adverisment On Top
7. Simple Clean Interface
8. New Button And Rating Images

Live Preview Can Be Seen Here...and various pages

Known Problems...
1) Layout break, when displaying members on category pages that do not have that many members. Table_Close.html does not appear when that happens. Could probably be fix.

I would sergest on having the Featured Member where you have the Advertisement for 2 reasons.

1. Not everyone who will have a topsite will want adverts on it by default.
2. It is against Google Adsense TOS to bring it to the browser's attion that it is an advert, sponder or to incorage them to click on it etc.

Thanks...I was actually thinking about that when I created it. That's why I made it like that. But actually it's not aagainst google tos for having it like that. As long as it doesn't say click on me or something, then it's cool. It's only allowed to say "advertisment" and "sponsors" or "sponsored ad".

The only weird thing about featured member is...it's actually random member...so that was weird.

Thanks, J, (it's cool to call you that right?) for your compliment. I also did some tweaking to some files in the sources...just the html part. None of the php. Don't know squatch about php. Because I was testing out some really long reviews to see how it would appear on the approve review page, and it looked kinda weird. The dates and stuff were squash together. So I just did some html editing for that. I also spaced out some other parts of the admin content.

I'll have a download link with the edited files tomorrow. You can verify it if you want. Thanks.

Whoa posted at the same time or I didn't see that you posted.

That's because it has some members. If there were no members...it would glitch. I think all you have to do is tell the script to include the table_close.html even if there is no member to display. Because when it doesn't have members, it still displays table_open.html but not table_close.html

It's not a script error, it's just an html error, overlapping each other when close.html doesn't get included.

http://www.aardvarktopsitesphp.com/tops ... &start=101

That has the problem. the links at the botoom "powered by" is on top of the table "title - description..etc"

It should be at the bottom.

Oh yeah...this is easily fixable. Don't use open and close .html. Just use the table_row.html I think.

But then you would have things being repeated in table_row.html instead of having one "tile - description, stats, hits..etc"

Cool man, you work fast.

I have the download link up. Also I did some finishing touches here and there. I also re did the button. Try refreshing the page to see a different one if your browser hasn't cache. There's two buttons to choose from.

One is double dumbs up, and one is dumbs up and down. Also I included a quick "Read Me File" located in the skins folder. Just some faq about editing things here and there.
