i would really appreciate it if you could spread the word around. this is my first site in this genre, so it's not starting with a lot of fanfare. most people from this website probably wouldn't be too interested in it.

Maybe you can try google adwords to get some new members fast.

It seems that you can learn which stats to upgrade by examening the "Play-by-play". Perhaps you should mention/explain this somewhere, faq?, because it's a bit hidden but a important part of the game.

I saw in 5.2.0 Alpha in the bottom that the link MyBaller.com is named "My Baller" if you rename it to something like "Online Basketball Game" then you'll probaly get listed better on SE's when people do a search with these keywords, which can get you interested members for free. Now you'll get a high ranking for baller, but that's not a word which is used alot and my will be ignored by SE's.

To help, and for the great work of creating a good topsite, I have a link to myballer listed at two of my sites for some weeks:
http://www.pspimages.net
http://www.woorden-boek.nl
Each get around 500 visitiors a day, so it should bring in some members.

You better also place the meta tags keywords and description in your files which could be something like:
<meta name="description" content="My Baller - Free Online 1-on-1 Basketball Simulation Game">
<meta name="keywords" content="Online, Basketball, Simulation, game, coach, trainer, manager">

cheers

the play by play has a large element of randomness, so you can't really learn exactly what stats you should improve directly from that.

i'm planning on trying some adwords in a week or so, after i'm confident that everything is working decently.

thanks for the SEO tips

To bad.. I thought that if you get "cut off" alot that it shows that the player needs to increase his dribbling and so on.

oh, it does. i wasn't clear in my previous post. the ratings do play a large role, but i was trying to say that the sample size of a game to 7 points is too small draw large conclusions from. if you have trouble getting open, you probably need to increase your dribbling rating. however, it could also be an anomaly. if it happens a few games in a row, then you could be more sure about it.

you can also look at the ratings of your opponent and compare yours to theirs.
