Upgrading from Aardvark Topsites 3.2.3 Nothing has really changed except the license, so to upgrade, just change $AT::config{version} to 3.2.4 at the bottom of config.cgi. There are more translations included in 3.2.4, so if you want to use them, upload them. Upgrading from Aardvark Topsites 3.2.1 or 3.2.2 Set the settings in the new config.cgi as it is explained in the Installation instructions. Upload and overwrite all the files in the cgi-bin except the ones in the Data directory. Upload last.txt, iplog_button.cgi, iplog_in.cgi, and iplog_out.cgi to the Data folder. CHMOD 666 all of them. You can delete the old iplog.cgi. Upload adbreak_top.html to the Templates directory. You probably should upload edit_form.html and edit_form2.html, but it's not required. Upgrading from Aardvark Topsites 3.2.0 Upload adbreak_top.html and featured.html to the Templates directory. You probably should upload edit_form.html and edit_form2.html, but it's not required. default.css has been slightly modified for 3.2.0, so you should upload it if you haven't changed the templates much. The <$copyright> tag is required to be in template.html and admin.html. Either upload the new ones or modify your old ones. Upload last.txt, iplog_button.cgi, iplog_in.cgi, and iplog_out.cgi to the Data folder. CHMOD 666 all of them. You can delete the old iplog.cgi. Open the new config.cgi and set all the URLs and paths the same way you did in 3.2.0. Upload the new config.cgi, CHMOD 666. That's it, you can go to the admin area and mess around with the new settings and stuff if you want. If you have a problem, post in the Support Forum. Upgrading from Aardvark Topsites SQL 3.1.3 Delete all your old files except config.cgi and Data/num.txt. Then follow the normal Installation instructions except do not overwrite config.cgi or Data/num.txt and don't go to the admin when you finish. Don't join your list yet. If you are on a Windows server, read the rest of this paragraph. If not, skip to the next one. Okay Windows people. Open upgrade3_1_3.cgi in a text editor. Change require "./config.cgi"; on line 30 to require "c:/whatever/your/full/path/is/config.cgi";. It should be whatever you set $AT::config{dir} to. Do the same to the path to the Modules directory on the next line. Upload upgrade3_1_3.cgi to the same directory as topsites.cgi. CHMOD 755 upgrade3_1_3.cgi. Now just go to upgrade3_1_3.cgi in your browser. Upload the new config.cgi, overwriting your old one. As always, if you have a problem, post in the Support Forum. Upgrading from Aardvark Topsites 3.02 Delete all your old files except the ones in the Data directory. Then follow the normal Installation instructions except do not overwrite any of your old files in the Data directory. Don't join your list yet. Move all the 1.txt, 2.txt, 3.txt, etc. files to the Members directory. CHMOD 666 all those files. Make sure you CHMOD 777 the Members directory. Download your old num.txt. It should contain a number. If it contains the number 52, change it to "52|52", without the quotes. It's just a number, a |, and then that same number again. Upload num.txt again, CHMOD 666. If you are on a Windows server, read the rest of this paragraph. If not, skip to the next one. Okay Windows people. Open upgrade3_02.cgi in a text editor. Change "." on line 30 to "c:/whatever/your/full/path/is/config.cgi". It should be whatever you set $AT::config{dir} to in the new config.cgi. Do the same to the path to the Modules directory on the next line. Upload upgrade3_02.cgi to the same directory as topsites.cgi. CHMOD 755 upgrade3_02.cgi. Now just go to upgrade3_02.cgi in your browser. It'll give you more information there. As always, if you have a problem, post in the Support Forum. |
